A bold exposé on the 2025 Pahalgam incident, The War That Changed Everything unveils media manipulation, geopolitical deceit, and the fight to defend truth.
About the book
The War That Changed Everything is a powerful and profound work of investigative journalism by two of Pakistan’s most respected voices in media and international affairs—Murtaza Solangi, senior journalist and broadcaster, and Ahmad Hassan Al-Arabi, a renowned journalist and international relations scholar.
This groundbreaking book dissects one of the most controversial flashpoints in South Asian history: the Pahalgam incident of 2025. Framed by India as yet another act of cross-border terrorism allegedly backed by Pakistan, the attack triggered a political, military, and media firestorm that brought the subcontinent to the brink of war. But as Solangi and Al-Arabi reveal, the truth behind the narrative is far more disturbing—and meticulously hidden.
Drawing from over two decades of field reporting, intelligence analysis, and geopolitical research, the authors expose how modern warfare is no longer just fought on the battlefield, but through fabricated news, deepfake media, and weaponized narratives. What unfolded in the aftermath of Pahalgam wasn’t just an escalation of military tensions—it was a coordinated campaign of deception designed to justify internal oppression, suppress dissent, and stoke electoral sentiment.
Based on leaked documents, authenticated voice recordings, payment trails, satellite evidence, and intercepted drone forensics, The War That Changed Everything meticulously unpacks the media manipulation and false-flag operations carried out by state actors. It shows how truth was buried beneath hashtags, how Muslims were vilified, and how Pakistan was scapegoated without due process.
But this book isn’t just about the India-Pakistan conflict. It’s a global wake-up call—a deep dive into how authoritarian regimes exploit religion, nationalism, and misinformation to control public opinion and wage psychological warfare. It questions how long the world can remain complicit in strategic partnerships that overlook truth for trade, and war crimes for diplomacy.
Murtaza Solangi and Ahmad Hassan Al-Arabi do not merely challenge India’s official narrative—they reveal a larger, more dangerous pattern of information warfare and state-sponsored disinformation. They call upon the international community, independent journalists, and human rights advocates to confront a new reality: the line between truth and fiction has been blurred by design.
The War That Changed Everything is not a rebuttal—it is a reclaiming of the record. It is for readers who care about press freedom, journalistic ethics, and the long-term consequences of digital deception in a nuclear-armed region. With sharp analysis, bold storytelling, and irrefutable evidence, this book will change how you view South Asian politics, international media narratives, and the future of conflict itself.

About the Authors
MURTAZA SOLANGI
Murtaza Solangi is one of Pakistan’s most seasoned broadcast journalists, with a deep focus on South Asia and a rich background in literature, theater, and music. He was among the founding reporters of The News International in Karachi in 1991. Over a career spanning nearly four decades across national and international print, radio, television and digital platforms, he has reported on wars, covered three US presidential elections, and unpacked great-power rivalries for audiences at home and abroad, earning a reputation for clarity, balance, and a sharp instinct for the geopolitical story behind the headline.
After getting a degree in Radio Broadcasting in Wisconsin, USA, Solangi joined the Voice of America in Washington, where he primarily covered South Asia through contributions in both Urdu and English across radio, television, and online media.
After spending 15 years in the US, honing his craft in journalism, Solangi returned to Pakistan in 2008 to take charge as Director-General of the Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation, ushering the venerable Radio Pakistan into the digital age with web streaming, multilingual news portals, and interactive current affairs programming—an overhaul hailed by the national press as the network’s leap “into the 21st century.” In 2012, he was awarded the Sitara-e-Imtiaz for his contributions to public broadcasting, media, and culture. After his tenure at Radio Pakistan, Solangi worked with various leading media outlets and television channels, hosting prime-time shows and writing for both national and international publications, including the digital platform Naya Daur and The Friday Times.
In August 2023, Pakistan’s caretaker government appointed Solangi as the Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting, and Parliamentary Affairs, tasking him with overseeing media policy during a politically sensitive election season. Today, he chairs the global policy think tank Stratheia, writes widely syndicated columns featured in outlets such as Express Tribune, Dawn, and The Diplomat, and remains a sought-after television analyst on regional and global politics and conflicts.
